Mitch is a pianist, organist, singer, conductor, choral director, teacher and composer based in Erdington, Birmingham. He is currently musical director in many groups and has been involved in many organisations along his decade in the music business. He is Director of Music at St John Baptist Berkswell which involves the direction of the very able SATB choir, the worship band and organ playing duties. Alongside this, Mitch is the Musical Director of The Belper Singers (Belper), The Palace singers (Lichfield) and is formally the MD of The Mickleover Singers (Mickleover, Derby), Uttoxeter Choral Society, Walsall Chamber Choir, Tong Singers and also temporary conductor of Beaumaris Singers, Newport. This work has involved conducting larger choral works, orchestra's as well as intimate chamber music. In 2010 Mitch, along with Kevin Stannard (Head of Music, UoW and writer with the Voiceworks range) took a choir to the ISME 2010 conferences, where the group performed and took an active role in one of Kevin's workshops.  Mitch has also been a pianist for local based theatre companies, including Followspot Theatre, Birmingham, and for Cre8 Community Theatre Company, Lichfield. His passion for musical theatre as well as choral music means there is much versatility to this man's music. Alongside all of this Mitch still maintains a healthy teaching schedule being a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Wolverhampton and teaching piano, singing, drums and theory to individuals.

Mitch's infectious enthusiasm, knowledge of music and desire to get the best out of every group means he is becoming more widely recognised within the West Midlands, Shropshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire area. He has built a fantastic rapport with the groups with which he currently works and is looking forward to next term, with some exciting concerts and projects coming up.

Mitch is currently working on several compositions with an exciting, emotional setting of the Latin Mass (Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Benedictus and Agnus Dei), a Requiem Mass intertwined with old hymn tunes and a Lent Reflections series. His previous compositions include a setting of Ubi Caritas as well as some Christmas Carols and other liturgical settings. Mitch also arranges songs for choirs with which he works and has previewed settings of Make you feel my love for his Youth Choir at St Chad's Church, Lichfield.

Mitch's choral work has been extensive and has performed music from all era's including: Gloria's (Vivaldi and Rutter), Masses (Schubert, Tallis, Byrd, Palestrina), Requiems (Pizzetti, Victoria, Cherubini and Faure), Eternal Light (Howard Goodall), Handel (including Messiah and Coronation Anthems), Magnificat in Bb (Pergolesi), The Reluctant Dragon (Rutter) and Parry's Songs of Farewell. Over the coming year he will once again delve into the world of smaller song including Renaissance Sacred Music, Songs about Water, a Translantic themed concert and the normal Christmas arrangements.
